Top 5 Best Coaches in the NHL Today

5. Ken Hitchcock: Ever since joining the St. Louis, their powerplay has been stellar, just as he said it would be. He took a very defensive minded team and helped their special teams immensely.

4. Dave Tippett: Very successful with finally taking the struggling Coyotes to the top (well, the Western Conference Finals for now). Very defensive coach and has a great system.

3. Joel Quenneville: Always ready to make a roster or line change, he has assistant coached and head coached his way to a Stanley Cup, with the Avalanche and the Blackhawks, respectably. Over 500 wins in his illustrious career. Oh, and that mustache is incredible.

1. Mike Babcock: One of the most successful coaches today, his Red Wings have been at the top for a long time, and he knows what to say at all times, a very charismatic guy who REALLY knows how to coach. Already won a Cup with Detroit and went to the finals with the Mighty Ducks in 2003.
